ACLS Instructor Course
Product Details
Take the next step in your professional clinical journey by becoming an official American Heart Association (AHA) certified Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor with Attentive Safety. Designed specifically for high-acuity healthcare leaders, this course empowers you to mentor, evaluate, and certify healthcare professionals in advanced resuscitation science, invasive airway management, cardiac pharmacology, and resuscitation team dynamics.

The Blended Instructor Learning Requirement
To become an official AHA ACLS Instructor, candidates must complete a blended learning pathway consisting of two required components:
  1. Online Prerequisites: The self-paced AHA ACLS Instructor Essentials Online Course (Product #25-1654). This online module covers core instructional theory, the 5-step AHA instruction cycle (Prepare, Teach, Test & Remediate, Close, Keep Current), and discipline-specific course administration.
  2. In-Person Faculty Session: An intensive, 7-hour classroom experience led by AHA Training Center Faculty, focusing on hands-on simulation facilitation, Mega-Code management, and practical skills evaluation.
Note: Candidates can add the online Essentials course during registration if they have not already completed it.

The Critical Need for High-Quality ACLS Instruction
  • In-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Impact: Over 300,000 adults experience an in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) in the United States each year. Survival rates heavily depend on the immediate response of well-coordinated, highly trained clinical teams.
  • The High-Performance Team Advantage: Clinical evidence demonstrates that high-quality CPR combined with early defibrillation and structured team leadership increases survival-to-discharge rates by up to 50%.
  • Rapid Degradation of Skills: Studies show that resuscitation skills and ACLS algorithm retention decline significantly within 3 to 6 months post-certification. As an ACLS Instructor, your role goes beyond initial certification, you serve as a vital clinical mentor maintaining ongoing readiness, sharp debriefing skills, and continuous quality improvement in your facility.
  • OSHA & Joint Commission Mandates: Healthcare organizations require continuous ACLS credentialing to comply with federal occupational health mandates, Joint Commission hospital accreditation standards, and state medical board licensing requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) | ACLS Instructor Course

Q: Why is the online Essentials course required?
A: The AHA ACLS Instructor Essentials Online Course (Product #25-1654) provides the foundation for AHA instructional design, core administration policies, and course preparation rules. Completing it before the classroom session allows faculty to focus 100% on hands-on simulation coaching and scenario evaluation.

Q: What is the path to final certification?
A: Following your 7-hour classroom session, you will be scheduled to be monitored teaching a full ACLS course the next day. Once successfully monitored teaching a course, your official AHA ACLS Instructor eCard will be processed.
