Course Summary

The ACLS Instructor Course offered by Attentive Safety is designed for individuals who wish to become ACLS Instructors. This course is delivered using a blended learning format, which includes both online and in-person components.

Course Components

  1. AHA ACLS Instructor Essentials Online:
    • Self-directed, online portion providing foundational knowledge and skills.
    • Covers the instructor cycle: Prepare, Teach, Test & Remediate, Close, and Keep Current.
    • Course length: About 1 hour, depending on the student.
  2. ACLS Instructor Course In-Person Session:
    • Hands-on training and practice teaching skills with other participants under the guidance of an experienced ACLS Instructor.
  3. ACLS Instructor Manual eBook:
    • Essential reference guide included in the course materials.
Upon successful completion of the ACLS Instructor course, learners will be able to teach the ACLS course to healthcare providers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care in emergency situations.

Requirements for ACLS Instructor CandidatesFor successful completion, instructor candidates must:
  1. Acceptance by an AHA Training Center:
    • Be accepted by an AHA Training Center before enrolling in the ACLS Instructor Essentials Course.
    • Have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with the Training Center.
  2. Current Certifications:
    • Have a current ACLS Provider course completion card.
    • Be proficient in all ACLS Provider skills.
  3. Course Completion:
    • Successfully complete the ACLS Instructor Essentials Course (both online and classroom portions).
    • Print the completion certificate.
  4. Teaching Monitoring:
    • Successfully be monitored teaching their first course within six months of completing the classroom Instructor Course.
    • Additional monitoring may be required by Training Center Coordinators.
