The Blended Instructor Learning Requirement
To become an official AHA Heartsaver Instructor, candidates complete a blended learning model:
- Online Prerequisites: The self-paced AHA Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Online Course (Product #25-1656). This online module covers core instructional design, the 5-step AHA instruction cycle (Prepare, Teach, Test & Remediate, Close, Keep Current), and discipline-specific course administration.
- In-Person Faculty Session: An intensive classroom experience led by AHA Training Center Faculty, focusing on hands-on facilitation, classroom management, equipment maintenance, and practical skills evaluation.
