Heartsaver First Aid

Heartsaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. ATTENTIVE SAFETY CPR & SAFETY TRAINING Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

First aid basics including:

• duties, roles, and responsibilities of first aid rescuers
• scene safety
• phoning for help
• finding the problem (and more)

• assembling and using an inhaler
• choking in an adult, child, and infant
• diabetes and low blood sugar
• stroke (and more)

• actions for external bleeding
• amputation
• broken bones and sprains
• burns (and more)

• actions for bites and stings
• temperature-related and poison emergencies
